General information

ECTS credits and their establishment

Workload of one academic year for full-time study is usually 60 ECTS credits. Accordingly, one ECTS credit equals to 30 hours. Semester can have 30 credits or can be set accordingly to the duration of a certain period of study (including the exam sessions). Large-scale disciplines (including those that are studied during several periods of study) are divided into modules, which also have credits. The establishment of credits for term papers (projects) can be carried out in the form of an independent educational component and as individual modules of disciplines. Educational components that are planned in weeks (practice and certification), can have 1.5 credits per week. The establishment of credits to the components of the study plan should not violate the number of credits of the study plan, academic year and periods of study.

In general, the amount of additional credits that a student can receive during the academic year (re-learning of disciplines, liquidation of debts between the study plan and the student’s individual plan) should not exceed 20 credits per year. The maximum allowable amount of such hours after renewing, transferring a student or enrolling in a second or third year on the basis of the obtained level of a junior specialist is established by the university.
